After two years of Hiatus, YUI is finally back in the Japanese Music Industry (Jpop)
The absence was due to her decision to focus more on her personal affairs. YUI is not an anonymous name anymore within Japanese music industry, since her debut 4 years back, she’s been making remarkable progress and obtain several outstanding achievements. YUI was named as one of the most successful solo singer around in Japan, although not as popular or with commercialized face in Japan, her existence is still favor by many Japanese music lovers and her music has been acknowledged by many.

YUI was born on March 26, 1987 in Fukuoka, Japan. She was raised by her mother alone and never knew who her father was. YUI’s singing activity started back in her school years where she joined a school of music instead of a normal school. Since young, YUI felt that music is one of the closest thing to her heart. It’s her passion. At the music school, YUI was exposed to all kinds of music and musical instrument and it was at that school too, she determined to become a singer one day. YUI debuted in 2004 and signed under Studioseven Recording labels and also attached to talent agency Stardust Promotion.
YUI can play the piano, guitar, bass and drums and she even started singing on the streets before becoming a recording artist. Before becoming a solo singer, she was also the lead singer of a local band named ‘Bianco Nero’, and YUI have tried acting once, in a film called Midnight Sun (2006). Most of her songs are written by herself. She even started writing her own songs in her high school years.
As long as she has been in the music industry, YUI has managed to record and produce three albums of which all were of pop/rock genre, and almost all of her albums made shocking sales volume! It was estimated about a million unit sales for each of her album released. Nevertheless, her second album ‘Can’t Buy My Love’, which was released back in 2007, indeed has most sales and liked by more people.

After releasing her third album in 2008, YUI’s singing activities seems to have slowed a little due to her reason to focus more on her private and personal matters. She made a statement about needing some rest and time off. However, not until recently, YUI made a comeback appearance, not with an album but a single instead, featuring four new songs. The single was released on the 2nd June 2010 and the title is To Mother. It is YUI’s 16th single in less than six active years of singing. And latest from YUI is a new album titled Holidays in The Sun which was released in 14th July 2010.
